烟火节

和别的国家一样， 英国过新年放烟火。但是， 十一月五号英国有特殊烟火。 不是真的大节日， 它更像警告。

一六零伍年十一月五号一个恐怖分子叫Guy Fawkes跟他的朋友尝试了用火烧国会，杀国王。 但是他们可以完成以前，士兵找到他们。

当然那个国王很高兴。所以以后，十一月五号是节假日。每年人人庆祝那个国王没死。很多年后， 很多人做了一个“Guy”在篝火烧它。

现在我们不经常看一个“Guy”。 虽然， 在小的城你可以能还找他们。在学校，孩子们还学习故事。他们知道故事， “Remember, remember the 5th November, gunpowder, treason and plot”. （记住，记住11月5日，火药，叛国和阴谋”。）

但是， 我知道很多人忘记这个故事。

Like most countries, the UK celebrates New Year with fireworks. But the UK has a special firework display on 5th November. It’s not really a celebration. It’s more like a warning. 

On 5th November,  1605, a terrorist called Guy Fawkes, with his friends, tried to blow up the Parliament and to kill the King.  However, before they could finish, soldiers found them.

Of course, then king was happy and afterwards, the 5th November was a public holiday. Every year people would celebrate that the King survived.  Over the years, people would make a “Guy” and burn him on the Bonfire.

We rarely see Guy Fawkes effigies any more.  Although, you may still see them in smaller towns.  Children are still taught the story in school. They know the poem, “Remember, remember the 5th November, gunpowder, treason and plot”.

But, I think most people forget the real story.
