These days, I like to go for a walk through the nearby Wetlands. The weather has not been so good recently, but I can take an umbrella or rain coat and it’s not so bad.
There are many water birds there, and I am learning their names. Some of the birds live there all the time, some birds only live there sometimes because they fly south for the winter.
There's a lots of geese; mainly Canada geese and Greylag geese. I am a bit scared of them because they are a bit bad tempered. Recently, a goose bit me on the leg. It wasn’t painful, but I am a little worried that they would bite baby Willa. I need to be careful, and watch them all the time. Maybe that’s another reason to take an umbrella - for protection! haha. But these geese aren’t afraid of anything at all!
I have been painting the birds. It helps me to review their names and remember what they look like. I have also found a great app: iNaturalist, which allows me to record which birds, animals and plants I see. I can take pictures of the wildlife and upload it to this app. The app tells me the name of the bird, and the information helps a charity to protect wildlife. There are millions of people all over the world using this app. So the information is very valuable.
